For beginners who wish to develop foundational caregiving knowledge and skills.
Who it is for
A foundation course for people new to care
This programme is intended for beginners who wish to develop foundational caregiving knowledge and skills. It suits school leavers, career changers, and anyone who supports a family member and wants to do it with more confidence.
Over three months you will learn how to support people with daily living, protect their dignity and safety, notice and report changes, and conduct yourself professionally at work.
The programme provides foundational training. It does not automatically qualify graduates to perform regulated clinical procedures independently. Clinical procedures must only be carried out by people who hold the required qualifications and authorisation.
